Annual Picnic Saturday July 19, 2014

 Co- hosted with the Ontario/Finger Lakes Beekeepers Association

The Summer Picnic for Empire State Honey Producers Association  (ESHPA) on July19, 2014 9:00AM at the Tinker Nature Park 1525 Calkins Rd., Henrietta, NY.  ESHPA will be providing table service, barbecue, and beverage. Please bring a dish to pass.


 We would welcome donation any of canned goods and a jar of honey for the local food pantry. Please bring your donation to picnic.

          “How to Present and Enter Your Honey at this Year’s ESHPA Fall Meeting Honey Show”

11:00   Speaker:  Bob Talkiewicz, award winning mead maker and beer judge, presents

            “Mead Making 101”


12:30    Picnic lunch.  ESHPA will provide table service, barbecue, and beverages.  

             Bring a dish to pass.

 On Friday the 18th we have scheduled the board meeting also at Tinker Park for 6 PM.  This meeting is also open to membership.  We will be serving dinner as well. Cost is seven dollars per person. Please note, RSVP by July 15, 2014 to for dinner order, Dinner will be assorted sandwiches and dessert along with beverage.
We also have a block of rooms reserved for Friday, July 18 at the Country Inn and Suites by Carlson. Located at 797 East Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY.  If any of the membership wishes to stay the night in Henrietta, they are also welcome to book rooms at the hotel.  To receive your special group rate of $114.00 plus tax, please call 1-800-830-5222 by cut off date June(?) 18. When calling and prompted ask for Empire State Honey Producers Association for your special rate.


About the Tinker Nature Park  1525 Calkins Rd., Henrietta, NY


In 1991 John and Carol Aldridge donated 68 acres of the Tinker Family Farm to the town of Henrietta New York. This land was developed as the towns nature park.
The Parks "Hanson Nature Center"
includes a indoor honey bee observation hive.
The park features 1.2 mile walking exercise trail, a half mile nature trail, a snake hibernaculum, and a orienteering course. Also on site is a pond for fishing, playground and horseshoe pits.
Note: dogs are not allowed in this park.

Tinker Nature Park is located at 1525  Calkins Road, Between Pinnacle Rd. and Clover Street in the Town of Henrietta


From the North (Rochester): 390 South to the East Henrietta Road Exit. - Head south on  East Henrietta Rd. - Travel to Calkins Rd. - Take a Left on Calkins Rd. and continue to 1525 Calkins Rd. - Tinker Nature Park will be on your right hand side.


From the South:  390 North to the Lehigh Station Road Exit turning right onto Lehigh Station Rd. , continue until Pinnacle Rd. - Turn left onto Pinnacle Rd. - Proceed to Calkins Rd. - Turn right on Calkins Rd. - Tinker Nature Park will be on your right hand side.
